The Band of the Cheshire Constabulary was formed in 1967. In our history, we have performed at many prestigious venues, including numerous civil occasions, and the honour of playing at Royal events.
In common with most other
bands, players perform entirely in their own free time, and are all proud
to represent the Cheshire Constabulary. It is a common misconception that
members of the band work within the Police Service. This is not the case,
as the majority of our players are from all walks of life.
The Band is a ‘Traditional
Brass Band’ with a wide concert repertoire. We are also a accomplished
marching band, led by our Corps of Drums.
Over the years, the band has had many successes in the contest field, and
although mainly a concert band, we have returned to the contest stage after
6 years.
In 2007, the band appointed a new Musical Director, Dave Woollam. Since this,
the band has gone from strength to strength, and we have high expectations
for the bands future.
