Festive time for the band

The band began their Christmas season with a rousing performance at the annual "Spirit of Christmas" concert in Chester cathedral. We performed to capacity audience, sharing the platform with well known faces from Stage and screen. As ever the concert ,hosted by the wonderfully entertaining Mathew Kelly, was a huge success. We were delighted to have been asked back for the second year running and the band, as ever, well and truly rose to the occasion.

The following day a small group of the band played carols at the annual lighting of the Christmas tree at St Lukes Hospice, Winsford. We received a very last minute request to help and were delighted to be able to contribute to the occasion. Cold and wet it may have been, but it was an extremely moving service, with the weather in no way diminishing the poignancy of the occasion.

Tuesday 8th sees the band return once more to Chester Cathedral , this time for for the Annual Fire and Police carol Service. Admission is free and starts at 7.30pm.

The next night, Wednesday 9th, has the band travelling to Neston Parish Church where we are appearing with over 100 musicians from Neston High School. It is set to be a wonderful evening of music with all proceeds going to the Schools music department.

On Sunday 13th we return to the fine church of St Elphins at Warrington for another Carol Service, again free admission. The service begins at 6.30pm

In keeping with tradition our last public engagements of 2009 is at St Michaels in Macclesfield. The concert is on Thursday 17th December at 7.30pm, free admission.

The band will then take a very earned rest before meeting again in January.
