The band are delighted to announce that they have been invited to attend one of the largest European Brass Music Festivals in 2010

The festival is held each September in Schlema Germany and attracts many thousands of visitors.

Bands travel from all over Europe to attend and participants have included Police Bands from Germany and Switzerland and the Netherlands. As far as we are aware we are the first British Police band to be invited.

We follow in the footsteps of the very fine Roberts Bakery Band who have attended the festival many times before ( in fact many of the current band have played there with Roberts in the past).

Our band and Corps of drums have worked hard these past two years to raise our profile and we are delighted to have been invited to such a prestigious event. As far as we are aware this will be the first time the band has travelled to mainland Europe.

We think it is important to place on record that the visit to Germany is being self funded with players taking leave/holidays to attend and contributing financially to the visit themselves. Accomodation in Germany is being provided by the event organisers and the balance is being met by the funds that band has earned from contest winnings, donations and appearance fees over the past year. None of the band's yearly maintenance budget is being used for this visit.
