We are very pleased to announce the addition of two new players.
The bands cornet section has received a double boost with the addition to Robert Fitzsimons and Claire taylor.
Robert has recently moved into the area and formerly played with the West Mercia Police Band.Claire Taylor, also a former member of the United Norwest Coop band joins from the Winterley band.
They are all very welcome indeed and we have now managed to fill all gaps within the band and feel very fortunate to be field such a strong line up.
Other good news sees the return of Laura Hughes our solo Baritone player who returns after the birth of her second child Charlie. Jen Willis who has done a sterling job in Laura's absence moves back onto 2nd Baritone but we are fortunate to have a player who has proven that she can step up to the mark if needed.
June has also seen the welcome return of Caroline Smith on second horn, Caroline took time out when finishing training to be a teacher and we are pleased that she is soon to take up an appointment in a school.
As players join some leave and we are sorry to announce the departure of Gerry Moylan our second Euphonim player. Gerry proved himself to be a true gent in the short time he was with the band but a lack of time led him to making the decision to leave the band. He is not being lost to banding though as he will continue as Solo Euphonium with the Barton band.
The band and corps have never been in such a strong position and it bodes well for the future of the band.
