The bands preparations for our appearance at the European Brass & Wind band Festival in Schlema Germany are progressing well.

We have already started preparing our programme for the visit and are planning an exciting blend of film, big band and classical music in addition to some old favourites that are well known to the crowd in Germany. We are also planning some special items which will hopefull raise a few smiles amongst the audience!

Our corps of drums will be giving a short display each night and we am sure that the band and corps will be very well received indeed.

Already the festival boasts some great bands from all over Europe including bands from Scotland and Eire. We follow in the footsteps of the Roberts Bakery Band who have visited Schlema many times before. They are a great band known for their polished concert performances so we will be working hard to ensure we come up to the mark!

We would once again like to thank the organisers of the festival for providing us with this opportunity and of course our Chief Constable for granting permission for the band to attend**

If you can't be in Germany this September don't worry because the band will be playing most of its programme during its up and coming concert season, (see concert list)

 

** We think it is hugely important to reiterate (especially given the current economic climate) that the bands attendance is only being made possible due to the generosity of the Festival organisers, contributions from band members,donations and the proceeds from contest successes.
