Rex has been a Church of England Vicar for over 33 years, and our Force Chaplain since 2002.
" I grew up in Dukinfield, then a N. Cheshire town, where the Whit Walks (church processions) were, and still are, a highlight of a community's annual events, involving bands from both sides of the Pennines. My Dad played flute and piccolo in the Adamson Military Band and in the Manchester City Police Band. My Grandad played cymbals when Adamsons were on parade.
We hardly ever missed going to the Whit Friday contest in Stalybridge, which
used to take place on the old market ground. So, being a member of the Corps
and taking part with the Band in concerts, marches and the Saddleworth Whit
Friday contests, really is a boyhood dream come true!"
