On a very very cold Bank Holiday weekend the band returned to Runcorn Hill to play for a very appreciative audience who braved the cold wind in true British fashion...
The band played selections of music from their current concert programme, from James Bond, Jurassic Park,Singing in the Rain, Bramwyn,633 squadron,Trumpet voluntary through to a very special and "unique rendition" of the Flower duet.
The audience were lucky enough not only to hear the band but also the Cheshire Constabulary Corps of drums, who, respendent in their new helmets, entertained all present with their excellent drum and bugle routine.
During the afternoon it was nice to see John Findlow, Dennis Cooke and Kevan Lomas, all ex players with the band, some from well over 15 years ago.
We look forward to returning in 2011............... hopefully with slightly warmer weather
Thanks to Rob Richardson for the photos...
