On
Wednesday 26th March 2008, Terry Shaw, Repiano Cornet received a ‘Volunteer
Award’ from the Chief Constable for his long and dedicated service to the
band. The award was presented to Terry by Chief Constable Peter Fahy and the
Police Authority.
Terry
is a long serving member of the Police Band, amounting to 14 years service.
While primarily playing the Cornet, from Principal Cornet to 3rd Cornet, Terry
also plays the Bass Drum while marching with the Band. When Terry joined the
band, he was sworn in as a ‘Special Constable’, and plays many concerts every
year.
Both
the Band and the Police would like to thank Terry for his service and commitment
to the band over the years, and also congratulate him on receiving this award.
